How do I close and reload the Official Liverpool FC Store app (Android & iOS)?
Updated
Why this matters?
Sometimes when the official Liverpool FC store is under maintenance, we will activate a maintenance page to provide key updates to the app and improve the overall shopping experience for our fans.
Once the maintenance period is over we will remove the maintenance page at which point it is necessary to close the app and re-open it in order to access the store. Simply switching between apps or returning to your phone home screen is not enough.
You must fully close and reopen the Official Liverpool FC Store app to access the latest content. If you do not do this, the app may still display the maintenance page or outdated content.
On Android
1.Exit the app fully:
Tap the Recent Apps (or Overview) button (usually a square or three bar icon).
Swipe the Liverpool FC Store app off the screen—left, right or up—so it is no longer running.
2.Reopen the app:
Tap the Liverpool FC Store icon again from your app drawer or home screen.
The app will launch fresh and display the updated content—not the maintenance page.
On iOS (iPhone / iPad)
1.Completely close the app:
On iPhones without a Home button: swipe up from the bottom and hold to open the app switcher.
On iPhones with a Home button: double press the Home button.
Locate the Liverpool FC Store card and swipe it upwards off the screen to force close it.
2.Relaunch the app:
Tap the Liverpool FC Store icon again on your home screen.
The app will open a new and load the updated store experience.
Quick checklist
Force-close the Official App (via Recent Apps or App Switcher)
Reopen the App by tapping its icon
See the updated content (not the maintenance page)
Common mistakes to avoid
Do not simply tap “Close” or “Back” within the app—these do not fully close the app.
Do not assume switching to another app and back counts as a full reload.
If you do not perform a full close + reopen, you may continue to see the maintenance page.
Additional help
This step only needs to be completed once after the maintenance page disappears.
If the app still shows the maintenance page after reopening, ensure you aren't using any app level “cache” options or recent update dialogs—closing and reopening again can help.
